Just around 9:15 I was near the main gate of Nur Masjid (Benin Mesjid) when I saw and heard the following happened.

Two guards of the Mosque removed the notices posted on the fences of the Mesjid and changed them in to pieces. The notices posted were to call the Muslims to attend the “Unity and Sadaqa” program to be hosted at the Mesjid next Sunday . The guards were caught in hand in doing so by two Muslims around. The muslims angered and shouted at them saying “why are you doing this, we know who orderd you to do this. We agreed with the chairman of the Mesjid to run the program. You shoud not have to listen to him rather the mass. The jamaa of the mosque have the right to do the same as the other masjeed jamaa are doing. The Masjeed belongs to us all muslims not a single individual. You should have save your self before the mass heard and angered at you while you follow individuals.why are you doing this, we know who orderd you to do this. We agreed with the chairman of the Mesjid to run the program. You should have saved your self before the mass heard and got anger at you while you follow individuals who are not recognized by the mass…..” the guards keep silent as they felt guilty having the pieces of the papers at their hands.
Finally the Muslims took the pieces away from the hands of the guards and one of the Muslims moved to the office of the masjid chair man having the pieces of the notice paper at hand.
